Sustainability

We prioritize the health of our planet while offering a top-quality destination

Sustainability isn't just a word for us; it's what we do and who we are.

OcoaBay’s sustainable practices include replanting thousands of endemic endangered plant species, such as Guayacan trees, and revitalizing local coral reefs with the help of marine biologists. The resort employs over 60 local people, with plans to build sustainable housing for employees and their families. Educational efforts and training in Agricultura Sciences are also a key part of the project, which seeks to integrate the local community into a self-sustainable economic model through specialized employment opportunities and improved quality of life (Epicure & Culture).

Sustainability Without Compromise

OcoaBay protects the natural environment by preserving native plants such as the majestic guayacán, bayahonda, baitoa, almácigo, Palo Verde, palo amargo, and palo de chivo trees. These species adorn the landscape, creating unique spaces within the dry tropical forest microclimate. Nestled where the Cordillera Central meets the Caribbean Sea, our community is embraced by the Francisco Alberto Caamaño Deñó National Park, forming a secluded botanical and birds heaven.
